March 24, 1999
I'm wailing in a quiet, crowded tower high,
And not an ear even stirs to heed my cry.
I wonder if I need to clarify?
Can you hear me?

Now I second guess my heart and contemplate,
Is there anyone on Earth who can relate?
Or is my notion foreign to their fate?
Can you hear me?

In my corner of the world,
My vision seems solitary,
In my corner of the world,
my song is a tune that doesn't carry.
In the corners of my soul
I feel the truth that creates it,
but the darkened world around me,
seems to ridicule and hate it.
Seems as though there's no one near me.
Can you hear me?

So I retreat to blinding my grandest dreams,
Force my ocean bound sail-boats, down much smaller streams,
Cause no one seems to fathom, the core of my schemes.
Can you hear me?

Be my ambition from an illogical view,
Be they ballads and brush strokes that spell nothing to you,
they're expressions my vital soul is weaved into.
Can you hear me?

You don't probe the world from the window where I kneel.
Every Human sense bears it's own world of real.
So don't tell me what's the routine way to feel.
Can you hear me?

Days and nights I woed my mind had lost control,
I was dancin' on a rock while the world was dancin gold,
Took a cross to regain what the bleeding world stole.
Can you hear me?

In my corner of the world,
My vision seems solitary,
In my corner of the world,
the uniformity is scary.
And the corners of my soul
are being honest to my heart,
but the darkened world around me,
tries to rip my soul apart.
Seems as though there's no one near me.
Can you hear me?

I'd been hiding in a basement with my shame,
Till Jesus said what I'd done merited no blame,
Sure I dreamed strange, but I dreamed in his name.
Can you hear me?

Not all of God's Salt comes from the same shaker:
The visions of my heart were strewn by my maker.
The lie I'd believed couldn't be faker.
Can you hear me?

The masses lied and said I had to see like them,
couldn't accept a new flower growing from the same stem,
but in God's eyes, I'm an eccentric gem.
Can you hear me?

I belong to a Shepherd on the other side,
He hears and knows this voice that the darkness tries to hide,
My dream a wave, and he a daily tide.
Jesus hears me!

When the torture of the tainted world I trod
devours me, I sing my desperate song to God,
he takes it in like gardens greet the sod.
I know he hears me!

I care not if the quiet, crowded world can hear me,
If my difference is a cause for them to fear me,
Cause Jesus is always dancing near me,
He can hear me.

In my corner of the world,
My vision seems solitary,
But in my corner of the world,
even Jesus tends to tarry.
From the corners of my soul
comes the source of my rare light,
but the darkened world around me,
likes to think it's way is right.
Even though my God is near me.
Will you hear me?
